The wiGgLy aTomiC ring

Have been thinking/dreaming about the atomic structure of matters.

Why are things so strange at the quantum scale? Why does helium turn into superfluid at 2 degrees above absolute zero (–273.15°C), with the ability to flow through unglazed ceramic and climb up the wall of glass container?

This is a ring made with a roughly 150-million-year-old natural blue sapphire (2.50ct) and platinum. Platinum atom has 78 electrons, if you squeeze your eyes and count, that should be the exact amount of dots on my doodle.
